My best friend rusty
As I opened the door
and stepped to the corridor
i feel two curious eyes
Constantly watching in disguise
His tail started to flap
Around and around a flag
His ears perk up and he looks at you
With eyes you always find new
His gleeful face when being pet
Traps my heart into his net
His simple joy of going out
Never seemed to be blown out
When sadness overtook me whole
He was there for me to hold
When all had given up on me
He licked my hand and made me free
The gentle creature whom I adore
Ferocious at strangers at the door
Like a lion he barks to let them know
He’s here so they can’t make us low
His heart so pure and love so true
His hungry face that always drools
He never ever belittled me
He always filled my heart with glee
But now I have to let you go
I cant bear to, you’re more than gold
The thought of you going away
Makes the blue areas grey
Will I never see you again
Wish it all never began
The feeling of loosing a loved one
Hurts more then being gunned
Remember me my good friend
When you’re away and cramped
Your golden hair and scent so musky
